She ends the novel thinking that he was right about Alix, but that Alix was also right about him. Lisa This drove me nuts If anything Robbie was the worst behaved character in the whole story. Alix Chamberlain is a woman who gets what she wants.
There’s a few mentions throughout the book of things like Emira having to move Kelley’s hands away from her hair several times during sex until he got the message, her picking up on all of his friends being black and finding that slightly strange to then noting at the end that clearly he only dates black women, plus Kelley using racially charged language in front of her without even thinking about it as if he actually sees himself as black.
